Where’s Joe Strummer when you need him?

No, it’s nothing in particular, just… every once in a while, i wish he were still around. I found this concert video today, and i got chills. Chills! Makes me want to buy another amp. I wonder if he’s been reincarnated yet.

Thanks for the reminder–I keep meaning to track down a Mescaleros CD.

Judging by the videos i’ve seen on YouTube, they were tight as hell live. I should pick up one of their disks too.

About once a year it hits me that even after I stopped following his music it still was nice knowing he was out there. He was one of the good guys.

I saw Joe on tour for the first (and last) time about 8 months before he died. It was the best and most memorable concert experience of my life, hands-down, no question. Hearing him sing Clash songs (“White Man in Hammersmith Palais”, “Bankrobber”, “Straight to Hell”, etc.) and Mescaleros stuff (“Coma Girl”, etc.) was absolutely amazing. I recently found this tribute page: http://www.drfeelgood.de/music/joe_strummer.htm
