goodbye, Sheldon Brown

Sheldon Brown, a generous soul and life-long cyclist has passed away. He was a fountain of knowledge for cyclists around the world and the keeper of the single largest and best collection of cycling knowledge that i’ve ever seen online. I never met him, but knew him through his voluminous web site, the few podcasts he produced and participated in, and through his many contributions to the iBOB and other email lists and forums. Just last week i built my 4th wheel ever, and printed a fresh copy of his wheelbuilding tutorial for reference. If you’ve ever ridden a bike or wrenched on a bike, Sheldon was one of us. Thank you for sharing so much with the cycling community, you’ve helped us all to no end. Rest in peace.
Sheldon also has a rather nice wikipedia page here.
